Hello! Welcome to the Joy Bell Blog. I'm bringing gratitude with an attitude today.
Lately, within the past three weeks, I've listened to and read more than enough negative remarks and comments made by mass media reporters and publishers, including the government, targeting Mega-church pastors. Mass media journalists accuse mega-church leaders of misappropriating church funds because they've acquired wealth through their private earnings and can afford to travel in luxurious style wherever they are sent or choose to go. Now, while this may be old news to many of you, it is new news to me, so I am grateful to lend a positive voice of support for these great men of God, and I am moved to shine a bright spotlight on the matter.
The Gospels of Matthew and Mark, report two miracles Jesus performed to feed two different sets of multitudes that followed Him. Matthew 15:38 reported, "they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children." Mark 6:44 reported, "they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men." The multitude of the five-thousand that flocked to Jesus out of "all cities" and "came together unto Him" (Mark 6:33), and "the multitude" of the "four thousand" that consisted of "lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others" (Matthew 15:30) that flocked to Jesus was a foreshadowing of the millions of souls won for Christ, since that miraculous day.
Research shows, according to Keith4Prez's "10 Largest Mega Churches in the US" YouTube video, "The Potter's House, overseen by Bishop Jakes covers 20K+" believing worshipers. Calvary Chapel, overseen by Pastor Souder covers 18K+ believing worshipers. Saddleback Church, overseen by Pastor Warren covers 19,400+ worshipers. Fellowship Church, overseen by Pastor Young, covers 19,900+ gathering believers. West Angeles Cathedral, overseen by Bishop Blake, covers 20K+ believing worshipers. Life Church.TV, overseen by Pastor Rochelle covers 20,800+ Christian gatherers. Willow Creek Community Church, overseen by Pastor Hybels, covers 22,500+ believing Christians. North Point Community Church, overseen by Pastor Stanly, covers 22,557 gathering believers. Second Baptist Church, overseen by Pastor Young, covers 23,600+ believers, and Lakewood Church, overseen by Pastor Joel Osteen covers 43,500+ worshipers
Pastor John Gray, Bishop T. D. Jakes, Pastor Joel Osteen, Pastor Jesse Duplantis, Pastor Kenneth Copeland, Pastor Joyce Meyer, Pastor Jerry Sayville, Pastor Creflo Dollar, Pastor Benny Hinn, and many others are faithful tithers who "rule well," receivers of the generous blessing of the Lord for services rendered and for staying the course despite the world against them.
In Paul's first letter to Timothy 5:17, he instructs his protege in this manner: "Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine." First Timothy 5:18 states, "For the scripture saith, thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The laborer is worthy of his reward."
Paul supports his instruction to the churches using Deuteronomy 25:4 and gave identical instruction in his first letter to the Corinthians (9:9).
Therefore, I say, it would be wise for media reporters and publications to take their mouths off these men of God because it is by His will and good pleasure that the names of these good men you are trying to besmirch are harvesting the seeds they've sown. These men, like Jesus, are trustworthy men who are knowledgeable in managing finances. They are dedicated to their calling to preach and teach the Gospel of Almighty God; He who employs and sends them. Christ is the one who rewards His servants "according to His riches and glory" for their services; He is the one who provides His staff with the means to build mega-church structures. Mega-churches are needed to protect and cover approximately 435,000 worshiping flocks from freezing temperatures, stormy rains, and sweltering heat.
Mega-churches, like non-mega churches, shelter flocks in all seasons, worshipers gathering weekly to hear by faith, the word of God and the preaching of the Gospels of Jesus Christ. Mega-church ministries feed the poor and hungry, clothe the naked and provide care and housing for orphans all over the world. Of such is the will of God on Earth as it is in Heaven.
So, to mainstream media reporters, journalists, and publishers, and to those of you hosting jealous spirits, I say this: "IT IS HARD TO KICK AGAINST THE PRICKS!" You cannot strip the glorious blessings and favor of God from them to whom it is richly given. You would do well to examine what happened to Moses's sister Miriam in Numbers chapter 12, and Saul's suddenly on the road to Damascus in Acts chapter 9. Read and take head because until you have been called by God and filled with the power to heal the sick; to cast out demons, raise the dead and are sent to care for and feed His people, stick to reporting the deeds of your god; the father of killing, stealing and destruction.
My prayer for you is that you be mindful and hold your tongues from wagging against the obedient faithful servants of Jesus Christ.
I am Rene Thompson, and I approve this message.
