Reasons For Believers To Study Their Bible

.

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2).

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life" (John 6:63).

Should a believer of the Word stand before the Lord and confess to not learning His written Word?

“It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God”

(Matthew 4:4).

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).

Jesus read the scriptures and obeyed them, because God requires it.

“Speak ye unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, “Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God an holy” (Leviticus 19:2).

“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14).

“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth” (John 17:17).

The Holy One requires His children to be sanctified holy, and none will be permitted to see Him without holiness. With holiness come truth, which can only be found in the Word of God.

“And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might”

(Deuteronomy 6:5).

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him” (I John 2:15).

“The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy” (Psalm 145:20).

To learn how God requires us to love Him, instead of worldly possessions, that we may keep the life preserving love of our Father within us.

“The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works” (Psalm 145:17).

“Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows” (Psalm 45:7).

“For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith”

(Romans 1:17).

Lovers of God in Christ, raise our children for righteousness’ sake, that they, too, may become the righteousness of God.
